Our client is one of the world’s largest and most established real estate investment managers.
Assignment / Overview of expectations
- Assume responsibility for the implementation of ESG measure across a multi-billion pan-European logistic portfolio together with the local asset management and technical teams,
- Drive and innovate ESG excellence,
- Lead certifications of the fund as well as its properties (e.g. GRESB, CRREM, BREEAM etc.),
- Assist the Fund Management in achieving the objectives of the portfolio,
- Identify the ESG key drivers of each asset and implement and execute the ESG strategy for a core fund,
- Deploy multi-million capex programme to improve ESG performance of the portfolio, incl. but not limited to PV panels, Smart Meter Systems, LED relamping, replacement of gas heating systems, smart cladding and more.
Main Activities & Tasks
- Drive the implementation of the ESG strategy of logistic developments together with the responsible asset as well as technical project manager
- Report to the “Head of SRI France” and “Head of Asset Management & Developments Logistics Europe”
- Develop and deploy best practice across a pan-European portfolio among all stakeholders, in particular with :
- the technical development managers
- the asset managers
- the fund management team for their communication to investors
- the SRI team
- the external property managers
- tenants
- external consultants
- development partners
- Select and steer all external partners working on ESG initiatives project
- Lead the project management for selected initiatives
- Monitor and improve ESG property performance
- Prepare and present decision memos (business plans, leasing, sales, valuation etc.)
- Point of contact concerning all ESG matters for all stakeholders, including but not limited to asset management, technical development managers, SRI team as well as fund management
- Integrate into and cooperate with the SRI team
- Improve and standardize the necessary data for ESG reporting together with the Fund Operations, Asset Management and Chief Data Officer team
- Prepare and submit the annual GRESB submissions and improve its overall rating
- Foster building certification for new construction but also in use and ease their preparation and submission by consultants
- Implement systematic ESG action plan, to comply with the fund’s ambitious ESG strategy;
- Participate in innovation projects to improve the ESG performance of assets, such as decarbonisation, biodiversity, soft mobility, bio sourced materials, renewable energy, circular economy and many more
Competences
Technical
- Solid understanding of the development and permitting process
- Ability to analyse and implement contracts such as development contracts, JV agreements, lease agreements, service agreements
- Ability to work independently and taking over responsibility
Behavioural
- Entrepreneurial, works independently, high grade of communication, diplomacy
- Used to work in an international environment
- Willingness to travel
Others
- European network in the real estate community
Specific Skills (IT, foreign languages, others…)
- Familiar with common IT applications such as Excel, Outlook, MS Office, as well as real estate business plan tools such as Argus, BISon, Circle or FinAsset etc.
- French and English (written and spoken), knowledge of German a plus but not a requirement
- Additional language skills advantageous
Profile
- University real estate degree with focus on construction or engineering
- Minimum of 10 years professional experience in real estate
- Experience with environmental certification procedures
- Experience in a pan-European company
