Core Responsibilities
The core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Research market trends and evolving industry best practice relating to the Taskforce on Climate
- Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) to guide the company’s consulting team on this discipline.
- Engagement with clients and other external parties (e.g. heads of sustainability, asset managers, property and facilities management teams)
- Lead the ongoing development of the company’s TCFD Strategy.
- Implementation of TCFD strategy for clients, e.g. policy and process development; delivery of training to client senior management teams on TCFD.
- Support development of marketing collateral and internal training/briefing materials relating to climate change resilience.
- Lead the growing TCFD discipline and team.
- Lead sustainability disclosure/reporting on TCFD
- Support industry engagement and thought leadership (e.g. attending conferences etc)
Essential Skills & Requirements
The right candidate must have the following essential skills:
- A passion for furthering the sustainability agenda
- Expertise in climate resilience and TCFD reporting
- Knowledge of climate change risks and opportunities as related to investor expectations, ESG reports and other voluntary commitments, preferably in real estate investing, with a regional focus on Europe and UK.
- Understand the role of climate data in assessing risk and exposure to physical climate hazards and assessing transition risks toward a low-carbon economy.
- Experience of project management
- Highly articulate and numerate
- Strong people skills, including well-developed team management skills
- Strong IT skills
- Degree or Masters in related subject (e.g. engineering, architecture, economics, finance, environmental studies, geography)
- Fluent English
Desirable Skills & Requirements
- Likewise, membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. Chartered Environmentalist) would be welcomed.
- Solid understanding of the investment management industry, preferably real estate investment management and risk management processes.
- Understanding of risk management processes and how they need to evolve to incorporate climate change risk and resilience.
- Knowledge of carbon reduction frameworks and standards, such as SBT, WRI GHG protocol
- Membership of an appropriate and recognised professional body (e.g. IEMA Practitioner Membership)
- An additional European language
