A real estate private equity firm is seeking to recruit a Vice President to join their origination team to deploy commercial real estate loans across all asset classes in Western Europe. This role presents an opportunity to work alongside an exceptionally strong team and will allow the newly appointed role to cover all aspects of transactions. The focus is to secure someone with a background in real estate debt with a solid track record in analysis and a personality which fits with the firm culture. The appointment will be based in London covering the European markets.
Responsibilities
- Originate, structure and execute real estate credit opportunities across Europe and the UK;
- Originate senior, mezzanine or preferred equity via debt brokers or key clients;
- Lead and/or manage due diligence, including, but not limited to market research, broker calls, third-party reports, financial statement audits, lease reviews;
- Lead and/or manage closing execution, including but not limited to coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, consultants, and investors;
- Draft and negotiate term sheets and loan documentation;
- Present financing opportunities to the investment committee and provide post-closing support for ongoing asset management responsibilities;
- Develop and execute business plans, and managing relationships with sponsors, financing sources, and third-party service providers;
- Manage teams of analysts and associates.
Background
- Circa 5-9 years real estate debt experience and ability to structure, present high-value deals and execute effectively;
- Strong academic credentials from a leading, internationally regarded university/business school;
- Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in an agile professional and growing team of high achievers;
- Strong financial modelling and analysis (strong excel skills are essential);
- Relevant work experience & track record, likely gained within a real estate debt fund, investment bank, real estate private equity shop;
- Working with high levels of autonomy the successful individual will need to be self-motivated with intellectual curiosity and appetite to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Must have demonstrated commercial experience and the ability to deal professionally, with credibility, integrity and confidently at all levels;
- Must be a strong team player with a professional work attitude, a good sense of humor and strong business ethics and principals;
- Willing to be London based and some travel in Europe;
- Fluent English. Additional European languages are a plus;
