The Position:
A new platform is looking to recruit their Head of European Acquisitions that will be focussed on the residential and co-living sectors across Europe. This a fantastic opportunity to join a new player well capitalised.
This role will require extensive travel across the EU.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the acquisition of residential and co-living assets throughout gateway cities in Europe;
- Source, underwrite, bid, negotiate and close real estate deals which fit the company requirements;
- Develop, expand and maintain external relationships with key market participants, investment sales, leasing brokers and lenders;
- Lead and develop strong relationships with business partners;
- Prepare and oversee all investment authorizations and assure that all financial, market and risk analysis is correct and accurate;
- Work closely with the leadership of the business – in executing the strategy and pipeline for the European market;
- Post-transaction management of investments including asset management strategies, assisting with investment/divestment decisions, financing and working closely with external consultants / JV partners as well as operating partners and property managers;
- Work alongside projects team to ensure their contribution to any acquisitions is completed in an objective and timely manner, helping us to move deals forwards as quickly as possible;
- Understand and keep abreast of market dynamics and trends and seek the input of research and other professionals in all analytic activities;
- Monitor and analyze economic, legal, political and market conditions within assigned areas;
- Recruit and manage teams;
- Provide mentoring support to the acquisition team and guidance as a means of demonstrating leadership awareness;
Background, Experience and Personal Attributes:
- Proven exposure and demonstrable track record in real estate acquisitions across Europe;
- Real Estate Professional with 7+ years’ experience on the residential sector;
- Experience in sourcing deals for ground-up development and conversion from another use to living sector preferred;
- Experience across negotiation, execution and asset management;
- Established networker with proven ability to grow and flex to deliver a quality pipeline of deliverable deals;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a small/tight and growing team;
- Strong academic credentials from a leading, internationally regarded university;
- Fluent verbal and written English; additional European languages are desirable;
- Highly IT literate;
- Ability to work with high levels of autonomy within a team framework;
- Strong entrepreneurial flair and business acumen, demonstrating a quickness in learning and flexibility/adaptability;
- Ability to work closely with and manage external teams effectively, empowering individuals to devise and execute solutions, ensuring a strong team ethic;
- Must be a team player with a professional work attitude and a passion for real estate;
- Strong business ethics and principles.
