Description

Corporate Finance Associate – Hospitality and Real Estate European Platform

Location: Amsterdam (with travel across key markets)

Reporting to: Director of Corporate Finance

Team: Corporate finance team

Scope: Group-level finance, strategy, and capital markets

The opportunity

The company is a fast-growing European hospitality and real estate platform operating across multiple major cities, with a multi-billion valuation and strong revenue growth. Backed by institutional investors and built around a differentiated, community-driven concept, the business is scaling both its physical footprint and operating model.

The platform is currently undergoing a period of significant evolution, including:

  • Deployment of committed investor capital into new locations across Europe
  • A strategic repositioning of parts of the existing portfolio
  • Expansion of an asset-light operating model alongside the core owned platform

The Corporate Finance team sits at the centre of these developments, owning the group’s financial narrative, investment case, and relationships with lenders and shareholders.

This role offers direct exposure to senior leadership, investors, and financing counterparties, with the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to key strategic and financing decisions.

The role

This is a broad-exposure role across the full Corporate Finance agenda, with two areas where you will spend the most time:

1. Debt and lender work

The company’s capital structure is actively managed. You will work closely with the Director of Corporate Finance and the capital markets function on debt sourcing for new projects, refinancings of existing facilities, and any waiver, restructuring, or amendment discussions with lenders.

This includes:

  • Building and maintaining lender-facing financial materials
  • Supporting term sheet negotiations with robust analysis
  • Modelling covenant compliance and headroom
  • Acting as a consistent and credible counterpart to lender analysts and credit teams

2. Investor relations and shareholder communication

The company is backed by institutional capital, and you will play an active role in the preparation of materials and analyses shared with investors.

This includes:

  • Board reporting and investor updates
  • Materials supporting new capital raises
  • Ad-hoc shareholder requests and analyses
  • Owning the accuracy and consistency of underlying data and models

Alongside these priorities, you will also support:

  • The consolidated business plan – maintaining and evolving the multi-year financial model, working closely with FP&A and operational teams
  • Investment underwriting – building financial cases for new developments, refurbishments, and strategic initiatives, and tracking performance against expectations
  • Revenue and profitability analysis – analysing key drivers across business lines, including recurring and operational income streams
  • Decision-support analyses – contributing to ad-hoc workstreams for senior leadership and investors

The breadth is intentional. Within a lean team, you will gain exposure to all aspects of the corporate finance function and work directly on priority initiatives led by senior stakeholders.

What you will own

  • The build quality and integrity of the analyses you produce – models, decks, lender materials, board sections
  • The consistency of every number that goes to lenders, shareholders, and the board
  • A growing share of the materials cycle as you build trust with the Director
  • Continuous improvement of how the function works – models, templates, data infrastructure, AI-enabled productivity

What success looks like in year one

  • Lenders and shareholders receive information on a predictable cadence with consistent quality, and your name is on most of the underlying analysis
  • Your models hold up in lender, board, and shareholder reviews without rework
  • You are earning trust to be in senior conversations and contribute the analytical view directly
  • You have shipped at least one materially better way of working – model, process, data infrastructure, AI tooling – that the team adopts

What we are looking for

Must-haves

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in M&A, restructuring, transaction services, leveraged finance, debt advisory, or principal investing
  • Strong financial modelling skills – you have built (not just contributed to) models that supported real decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communication – you will write things that go to lenders, shareholders, and boards
  • Comfort operating in an international, fast-moving environment with limited supervision and short deadlines
  • Fluency in English

Strongly preferred

  • Leveraged finance, debt advisory, or sell-side credit exposure
  • Real estate and / or hospitality / student housing experience
  • Exposure to membership, subscription, or recurring-revenue economics
  • Multi-country, multi-currency operating environments

Differentiators

  • A second European language (especially Dutch, Italian, German, Spanish, or French)
  • Track record of adopting AI-enabled tools and methods to improve modelling, forecasting, or analytical productivity – separating signal from hype
  • Experience working in a founder-led environment alongside institutional capital

How you will show up

This role demands financial sharpness and emotional intelligence in equal measure. You will work across functions, between central and local teams, and with senior stakeholders who do not always agree. The candidates who succeed here:

  • Stay composed under pressure and self-aware about their impact
  • Influence without ego – challenge constructively while keeping trust
  • Adapt across European cultures and contexts
  • Embrace founder energy and add institutional rigour without slowing it down
  • Have genuine empathy for customers, members, communities, and operational teams
  • Stay curious about new tools and methods, with the judgment to know what is worth adopting

What The Company offer

The chance to work on the financial backbone of a fast-growing platform during a highly active period. Direct exposure to institutional investors, sophisticated lenders, and a leadership team building something new. Real apprenticeship from a Director who will invest in your development, in a team small enough that you will see everything. Opportunities to spend time across European locations. And the kind of work environment we would want for ourselves – fast, smart, kind, occasionally chaotic, never boring.

We are curious, conscious, and inclusive. We bring people together and are committed to providing the best space, experience, and workplace for our entire community – no matter age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, national origin, or anything else that makes you you.
