Summary
The Investment Manager (depending on experience) is responsible for underwriting investment opportunities, leading the capitalization of our existing pipeline, providing financial analyses to support investment decisions, conducting market research, engaging with lenders to secure financing, and leading the execution of investment and development transactions. Day to day duties include sourcing opportunities, analysing due diligence materials and transaction documents and preparing & presenting investment memoranda.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Work closely with the Development team to achieve the successful closing and capitalization of our secured development pipeline, including investment analysis, preparing and presenting investment recommendations and securing the company and investor/Fund approvals
- Lead in sourcing, preparing and presenting new investment memo’s; financing or disposition recommendations; and updates on existing investments or portfolio status
- Manage acquisition due diligence processes and closings with outside counterparties, managing external advisors
- Actively engaging with owners, brokers, equity partners, lenders, attorneys, consultants and all other related internal departments, as appropriate
- Financial analysis and underwriting of investment opportunities, including running detailed multi-tier pro-forma waterfall models; work closely with Development, Asset Management and Operations teams to ensure all assumptions have been reviewed and are coordinated
- Engaging with lenders to negotiate termsheets and long form agreements and navigate internal approval processes (with support from in-house counsel),
- Assist with asset management, value-add execution and disposition of existing portfolio assets
- Market investigation of potential acquisitions, competitive properties and local market fundamentals
- Support the development of new and junior hires through financial investment training and best practices.
- Completes various human resources, financial, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary. Monitors and reports on key market, industry and competitor data;

- Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve efficiency and productivity
- Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, processes and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training classes, research and/or subscribing to the internet or other professional publications, or utilizing other appropriate method(s) to obtain business and professional information, and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility
Role Scope
- This role will report to the Investment Director
- This role may have indirect reporting lines to other senior level colleagues within European Investment, Development, Asset Management or Portfolio Management
- The post holder will have the opportunity to gain exposure across a range of the Company’s investment, development and asset management projects
Key Relationships
- This role works closely with colleagues and senior leaders across the wider European Investment, Development and Asset Management teams and Property Management business
- This role interfaces regularly with investment partners
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Educated to MSc (WO) / University Degree (2:1 and above) or equivalent in or a related business or analytical subject; such as finance, business management, real estate, accounting, economics, mathematics, statistics; science or engineering
- IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft packages including PowerPoint (Advanced level) and Excel (Advanced level)
Experience and Skills
Essential:
Demonstrable experience in an analytical role within investment banking, private equity or other related finance position.

- Strong quantitative background with experience of financial modelling ideally in corporate finance, related-business or accounting
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and attention to detail with a demonstrable ability to research, analyse and present complex financial data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to effectively write and present reports and informatio
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships and influence at all levels
- Good organisation skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines.
- Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development
- Transactional experience
- Naturally inquisitive with a desire to understand the bigger picture and get involved with wider team and business objectives
- A positive team player, with an adaptable and flexible approach along with ability to work collaboratively to drive results and support the wider team and business objectives
- Must have excellent written and spoken English
Desirable:
- Demonstrable interest or experience working in the Real Estate Sector
- Demonstrable experience in an analytical and/or transactional role within investment banking, private equity or other related finance, within Europe or internationally
- Understanding of Dutch is a plus but not required
